Before Moby had his breakthrough in the early ’90s with the single “Go,” and years before his mega-successful 1999 album “Play,” the acclaimed electronica musician spun records for fresh-faced teenagers at Christ Church in Greenwich.
The venue was The Cafe, an alcohol-free dance club that occupied the house of worship on Saturday nights.
“In the interest of having any sort of street cred, I probably should never mention the fact that I spent years of my life working at an all-ages club at an Episcopal church,” joked Moby Thursday, before the opening of an exhibit of his photographs at the Samuel Owen Gallery on Greenwich Avenue.
